Jeff Coon

Jeff Coon joined Island Tech Services in April 2023 as the General Manager of the Maine shop. His role is to oversee operations of the facility, sales, installations, maintenance and quality customer service. Jeff graduated from the University of Maine with an Associate’s Degree in Legal Technology. He previously worked as Reserve Police officer for multiple departments in the greater Katahdin region from 1991- 2003 but retired in 2022, after 28 years of service to the State of Maine. The first eighteen of those years he was an Emergency Communications Specialist and an Operations Manager with the State Police and the Department of Public Safety. The following ten years he spent with State Police Fleet Maintenance Unit as a Fleet Support Technician where he maintained and installed all emergency equipment to included, MDT's, camera systems, radio Communications systems, radar units, lighting, and warning systems. Jeff also assisted with the deployment /refresh of MDT systems for the State Police and for the initial deployment of MDT units for the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife statewide. He was a founding member of the State Police Incident Management and Assistance Team, a position held for sixteen years. In 2008, Custom Installations began serving a few departments within the greater Bangor area, eventually serving multiple agencies within Penobscot, Hancock and Washington counties. Jeff is a father of two fabulous daughters who reside in Florida and Maine. In his down time, he chases his youngest daughter's softball and hockey team games.
